School Cheer Scoring & Rules
School cheer is governed primarily by NFHS in partnership with USA Cheer. Competition scoring varies by event producer โ UCA, NCA, and state associations each run their own events on top of NFHS rules.

- Six risk-minimization changes approved
- Major reorganization: Rule 1 (definitions) moved into cheer (Rule 2) and dance (Rule 3)
- New definitions added: "assisted walkover," "kip up," and "nugget"
- Dance fully separated into its own rules section for the first time
